Menstrual cycle coaching and workshops

What you never learned in health class.

I teach about the menstrual cycle, not just your period. I give you frameworks to understand your body and guidance to start paying attention to your own rhythm, so you can work with your body instead of against it.

Hi, I'm Amanda

My cycle hit me harder than most, and I didn't know why.

I always felt like I was missing something everyone else knew. Because I have ADHD, the hormonal shifts in my cycle hit me hard. Learning about my cycle anchored me into myself and gave me a way to advocate for myself with my providers. It took me a while to get there, but when I did, it changed my life.

Why this matters

Women's health doesn't get the attention it deserves.

A lot of us have been gaslit about what we're feeling, and our pain gets minimized. Doctors aren't always taught what they need to know about the menstrual cycle to treat women well, and it's going to take a real cultural shift for women to be taken care of the way we need. Work like this is part of that cultural shift.

In the meantime, your cycle is a vital sign. It tells you when something is off. When you know how to read your own, you can take it seriously, bring real information to your doctor, and look after your health for the long run.

I want girls to learn this from the very beginning, along with the message that having a period is nothing to be ashamed of.

Being a woman is an amazing, magical thing.

We're able to create life, and even if you don't want to create life, you can use that energy to create anything you want. We're immeasurably powerful creatures.

The "every month you bleed from the hole between your legs" speech you got in health class doesn't even begin to cover it.

How it works

My workshops teach what you never learned in health class.

  1. Come to a workshop.

In one hour, you learn how your cycle really works, with frameworks that help it make sense.

  2. Pay attention to your own rhythm.

I give you tools to track your cycle and start noticing your own patterns.

  3. Work with your body.

Once you know your rhythm, you can plan around it and speak up for yourself with real information.

Without this, a lot of women keep guessing, blaming themselves, and getting dismissed. With it, the hard days stop catching you off guard, and you know when something needs a closer look.

How I teach

You're the expert on your body.

I give frameworks, and I give guidance. My mentor is Claire Baker, who learned from Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer at Red School. The big red rule from Red School has stuck with me ever since: you're the expert on your body. My job is to help you learn to listen to it.
